OKM Pop-up Store Berlin: A Look Back at a Special Week
OKM opened its first pop-up store — this time in Berlin. Over the course of several days, visitors were able to try out ground scanners and metal detectors live. This revealed a clear interest, not only in the technology itself, but also in visitors' very concrete application projects.
Analysis and Consultation in Focus
Two topics were at the center of conversations: correctly interpreting a scan and choosing the right device. OKM's 3D ground scanners do not display a photographic representation of a buried object; instead, they visualize the strength of the magnetic anomaly in the subsurface, color-coded in a 3D representation. Experienced users can deduce position, depth, and size from this, and with some practice, also initial indications of the material.
Individual device consultation was also in high demand: depending on the project — whether searching for gold in the mountains or locating pipelines before construction work — requirements vary considerably. The OKM team was able to provide concrete recommendations directly on site.
A Special Conversation
One moment stood out especially for the OKM team: shortly before the pop-up store closed, an interested visitor from France came to the stand, having traveled to Berlin specifically for this conversation. He was pursuing a concrete project and already had a clear idea of what he was looking for. The conversation illustrated just how valuable personal consultation can be, especially for demanding projects.
Outlook
The pop-up store in Berlin showed how valuable it is for customers to be able to hold a device in their own hands before purchasing it. Weight, handling, and the real-time response to a signal are difficult to convey any other way. OKM therefore plans to expand this format further in the future. Anyone who already has their next project in mind can already request a personal product consultation.
